Set up
- Open Heartlist: Wishlist & Alerts in your Shopify admin and click Turn on the Wishlist app embed, then save your theme. This adds the floating wishlist link and the wishlist page at /apps/wishlist.
- Click Add the Wishlist button to put the button on your product page.
- Hearts on product cards work with Shopify’s free themes straight away. For other themes, enter your theme’s product card selector in the app embed settings.
- For alerts, open Shopify Flow and create a workflow that starts with “Wishlist item back in stock” or “Wishlist item price dropped”.
Questions
Which themes work?
The app embed and the built-in wishlist page work with any theme. The product page button and the Wishlist page block need an Online Store 2.0 theme, like every Shopify theme released since 2021.
Why don’t I see hearts on my collection pages?
Your theme probably isn’t one of Shopify’s free themes. Set the product card selector in the app embed: right-click a product card, choose Inspect, and copy the class of the element that wraps one whole card. Or email us and we’ll find it for you.
Which languages does the storefront use?
The shopper’s language, if it’s English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or Portuguese (Brazil); otherwise English. You can change any label in the theme editor, in the Wishlist app embed and blocks.
Do shoppers need an account?
No. Guests’ lists are saved in their browser. When they log in, the list moves to their account, works on every device and can get alerts.
How are alert emails sent?
Through Shopify Flow, so you can use Shopify Email, Klaviyo or another tool you already use. Shopify only sends marketing email to customers who agreed to receive it.
What happens if I uninstall?
The button and embed disappear from your theme automatically; no code is left behind. Your data is deleted when Shopify tells us to, 48 hours after uninstalling.
